I did it! I finally did my first wedding show this past weekend and enjoyed it. I wasn’t sure what exactly to expect, so I was actually glad that there weren’t too many engaged couples coming through the show. I fell like I got to talk with everyone who was interested in hearing more about my wedding photography here in Corpus Christi. I was a little apprehensive at first because I didn’t have a ton of gigantic prints, but what we lacked in huge prints we made up in style.
My wife and I had recently done some traveling and loved the way we saw an array of prints hung up utilizing plain ol’ clipboards. So that was our first step. Then I needed a backdrop or wall or board to hang said clipboards on. I got to brainstorming and began thinking about how much I love Urban Outfitters simple but effective shelving and product displays – so I set out to Home Depot and came home with a few sheets of OSB, some nickel plated hardware and a plan. What we ended up with can be seen below. Each couple who came by received a little information packet put neatly together in a set of burlap drawstring bags.
I couldn’t have put this all together without my wife and sister giving me a hand. I owe them a huge thanks. Oh, and a huge thanks to all of the wonderful couples that came by and chatted with us and an even bigger thanks to all of my amazing clients from the past whose beauty was on display (and who have helped me succeed.)
