On August 13, I had the pleasure of photographing Janice & Tim’s wedding day events here in Corpus Christi. I started off the wedding day accompanying Janice and her bridesmaids in their Omni Bayfront suite overlooking Corpus Christi Bay. Then it was off to their ceremony in the magnificent Corpus Christi Cathedral with a reception that followed at the Ortiz Center overlooking the Port of Corpus Christi.
The Omni Bayfront provides such beautiful rooms to photograph in, and the suites overlook the bay, which ensures that beautiful, bright light spill in the floor to ceiling windows. I took this time to get some shots of Janice’s accessories, such as her beautiful dress, shoes and both of their rings. I also got plenty of shots of the girls in action (the bridesmaids, stylists and makeup artist.) I had my sister come along to shoot with me so that I could leave her with the ladies while I went with Tim and the guys to Lawrence Street to get a few shots infront of the locally famous “No Parking” painted across from Aria. We then hustled over to the cathedral and eagerly awaited the beginning of their ceremony. The Corpus Christi Cathedral is gorgeous on the inside, and allows quite a bit of freedom for photographers. After the ceremony, we all headed over to the Ortiz Center and began the night’s festivities, celebrating the wedding of Janice and Tim.
I wanted to create a look that was a mix – a hint of vintage and some underexposed film pushed into place. The processing is loosely based on one of my previous vintage presets for Lightroom.
